OUR STORY
Montney Gold began on our family farm in the Montney Valley of northern British Columbia, where agriculture is part of everyday life.
Surrounded by open farmland and the wide skies of the Peace Country, we wanted to create something special from what we could grow right here on our own land — products that were simple, traceable and made with care.
That idea became Montney Gold.
Our cold-pressed canola oil begins with Clearfield non-GMO canola, grown on our own farm without spray.
When the crop is harvested, we press the seed ourselves using only mechanical pressure — no chemical extraction, no preservatives, no additives. The golden oil is left to settle naturally before being bottled in small batches.
Because we're involved from planting the seed through to pressing and bottling the oil, we can offer something increasingly rare: complete traceability from field to bottle.
That is what Purely Pressed means to us.
Canola is only part of the Montney Gold story.
Our bees live alongside the fields, producing local honey and beeswax. That beeswax has become the foundation for a growing collection of handcrafted products — beeswax wraps, lip balm, plantain salve and moustache wax.
Even what's left after the canola seed is pressed has a purpose.
The nutrient-dense canola meal is pelletized into a high-protein livestock feed, right here on our farm in Montney, BC — we believe good farming means valuing the whole harvest.
We aren't trying to produce oil on an industrial scale.
We want to produce exceptional food from crops we grow ourselves, and to know exactly what goes into every bottle.
Grow carefully. Process gently. Waste as little as possible. Make products we're proud to put on our own table.
